Yvonne Curtis – Reggae Queen
Reggae songstress, queen of ‘Big People Music’, ‘Yvonne Curtis’ – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yvonne_Curtis. has been signed for some time to the Digital Jukebox record label where she has maintained a huge fanbase globally in UK, South America, Europe and more and has remain prominent and consistent with song releases within the Reggae genre since the early 80’s.

On 25th October 2025 Jamaica was hit with one of the most powerful Atlantic hurricanes on record being one of the strongest to have ever hit Jamaica. Like many others back home in Jamaica Yvonne’s home was struck and damaged and so was her label’s head Mark Anthony’s family farm in St Thomas. During the creation of Yvonne’s album for 2026 release Mark & Yvonne Curtis stopped and decided that they had to do a completely new song release for Jamaica. They decided that the song was to be uplifting and not to focus on grim video or shots of the devastation, instead the objective was to lift the spirits of their fellow Jamaicans with happiness and love. The idea was to press cd singles and to donate 50% of the cd sales to those who suffered under the disaster.
UK’s 2nd largest TV broadcasting network ITV Television – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ITV_(TV_network) had been following Yvonne’s career since the 80’s. The label was contacted directly by the ITV journalists when they heard of the idea to contribute to the cause and with no time wasted decided to bring nationwide coverage to the cause seen here – https://www.itv.com/watch/news/the-hidden-studio-in-birmingham-producing-reggae-music-to-help-families-hit-by-hurricane-melissa/bgwn0q0. She was also interviewed by BBC Radio heard here – https://soundcloud.com/digitaljukebox/yvonne-curtis-blak-prophetz-on-bbc-radio-wm-birmingham-19-decemeber-2025-730pm

It’s finally here, the song has been completed; the official music video has now also just been completed. The cd’s has been manufactured, and we are ready to go. It is called ‘Dinner (For Jamaica) – Dedicated to Hurricane Survivors. It tells the story of Yvonne’s finding love on her first date in Jamaica to which she references Jamaica inadvertently being her home and as being her ‘baby’. We have given a release date of 7th April 2026 to which the album will follow later in the summer & autumn of the same year.
We are contacting you to help us bring awareness to the cause with the heartwarming collaborative solution/contribution in the form of a song and video. We want the song to be an anthem for Jamaica, a statement of survival and love. The music was inspired by Mark’s father who passed away during the 2020 pandemic. The song was written by Yvonne Curtis with the direct objective to lift the spirits of those that experienced the hurricane.
