La Brisa, new from Los Jugos Locos
The Reggae and Dub group from Buenos Aires is releasing music again. A new single is already available on digital platforms. “La Brisa” represents a new stage for the band, which rebuilds its lineup with Bocha Drums and Bernardo Miranda on drums and bass respectively; and aims for a conscious message in a traveler-style reggae.
This song is an invitation to re-signify the conscious message in musical poetry. It intends to recall moments of human connection, like a treasure for these times of predominant digital life. “The sidewalks find us,” says the end of the chorus written by Mauro Solazzi, composer, singer, and producer of Los Jugos. From a sound perspective, we can find a more Cali Roots base. Light, harmonious, and evoking that sense of peace that sometimes a breeze can give us in any circumstance of life. Characteristic synthesizers sound in this project that in 2027 will celebrate ten years, betting from the underground to promote the Argentine and Latin American reggae scene.
Recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered at Estudio Fa, in the Republic of La Boca by Bruno Solazzi; guitarist, backing vocalist, and sound engineer of the band for some years now. “There is a jump in quality in terms of studio sound. We continue learning and above all experimenting with ways to produce as a band,” commented Bruno.
The cover art design was handled by Pablo Rodriguez of Estudio Vuelo, who has been working with the band on their latest productions (Friction and Sumando Riddim). It reflects almost perfectly what is later heard in the song. Another characteristic of how the production flowed in its entirety. Nicolás Yacono directed and realize the music video for the song. Minimalist psychedelia, message, and the concept that the band finds its creativity and harmony in its place of belonging. Their neighborhood, the studio, the house of Los Jugos Locos.
To this air so necessary for the times we live in, the special participation of Patricia Zarza in the backing vocals is added. She is the mother of Mauro and Franco, who, besides providing them with a musical legacy from a very young age, is an artist who has been releasing her own music for more than ten years. “We are very happy to be able to experience having her voice and contribution,” comments Franco.
And finally, as if it were a matter of fate, Sabrina Rojas, a.k.a. Cultur Chant, joins in on vocals. “The inclusion happened naturally when the bases were recorded live for the track. Sabri was in the studio and asked to do a take, because of the connection she felt when she heard “La Brisa.” When the song was mixed, part of that take was added, and it sounded as if it had been produced a long time ago,” explains Bruno. Now, all that is left is to enjoy and share.
Do you feel the breeze?
