Highlights of 2023 Island Music Conference – Uniting The World Through Music. It was held in Kingston, Jamaica February 8th to the 12th and had over 15 panels and workshops dedicated to help music professionals to get the resources needed to further develop their career.
Music industry giants such as iHeart Radio, Audiomack, Pandora, TikTok and BBC Radio 1xtra all sent representatives who joined independent practitioners from all around the world to deliver messages of encouragement and to impart knowledge on a mostly captive audience throughout the five day event. Those in attendance had their choices of panels to attend from: Digital/Social Media Music Marketing and The Art of Event Production to Money Management, Investment & Insurance and Pros & Cons of Owning Your Masters – seemingly all bases were covered by the Island Music Conference founders acclaimed reggae music artiste Shaggy, Solid Agency president Sharon Burke and media consultant Judith Bodley. There is hope that next year’s edition could be even more impactful as those who are currently in the music industry or even the people who would like to pursue avenues to enter into it are in need of easily accessible conferences like this in order to best approach maximizing their careers in the music business.
