As important of a undertaking as any Jamaican dancehall artiste has decided to put their name and their efforts behind in recent years, Unruly Fest has made itself into a staple of end of year entertainment activity on the island of Jamaica. What begun as a way for global star and Unruly Records label head, Popcaan to bring economic activity and general notoriety to his home parish of St. Thomas which despite its proximity to the island’s capital has been, almost criminally, ignored and under developed for quite some time; has morphed into a franchise that will see stops in North America and the United Kingdom in 2024. One can only hope that Popcaan can keep up the momentum for many a year to come. Giving the people of St. Thomas more of what they deserve.
