Sherieta Conversations in Key EP Review Four Lighters
You wonder why did it take so long for Sherieta to release her debut collection of songs. However, as the popular Jamaican parlance goes “Nutten nuh happen before its time” and for the listening public “Conversations in Key” arrives right on time.
Most people in the Jamaican music industry have heard of Sherieta. This singer has sung background for almost everyone from Junior Gong, to Tarrus Riley and Gentleman. Sherieta is also a noted songwriter and vocal arranger who has done impressive work with Jah Cure, Luciano and Etana; she could be definitely considered as the complete entertainment package. Which makes you wonder why did it take so long for Sherieta to release her debut collection of songs. However, as the popular Jamaican parlance goes “Nutten nuh happen before its time” and for the listening public “Conversations in Key” arrives right on time. 7 tracks were way too short of a time to be satisfied, because as the first song “Don’t Fail Me Now” begins you know you are in for a treat.
“Woman 2 Woman” featuring Racquel Jones and “Can We Stay” featuring Chevaughn were the other songs that I felt were outstanding.
Not to take away from the rest, but those were ones I feel could get some serious radio play. After this release, we can only hope this is just the tip of the iceberg with regards to Sherieta’s solo career
