Ziggi Recado, is a singer, songwriter and producer of Antillean descent, raised by his Grandparents on the island of St.Eustatius, where they gave him the name Ziggi. He moved to Aruba as a teenager for school and later emerged in Amsterdam as “Best Artist” and “Best Live Act” (pp2g). Ziggi’s music and performances deliver a diverse influence from the Caribbean and Europe to compliment his vocals, style and production.
Ziggi seamlessly blends Soulful Jazz & Hip Hop elements into Roots, Lovers Rock and Dancehall Reggae. His latest productions and recent features bring in elements of Afro Beats, Trap, House & Reggaeton, reflecting a musical pot as diverse as the Caribbean. In 2006 he won a Essent Award and his debut album “So Much Reason”, earned him “Best Album” (pp2g), while his track “Blaze it” peaked at the No. 1 position in the official German reggae charts.
In 2008 With the cooperation of VP/Greensleeves records Ziggi’s 2nd studio album “In Transit” was released. “Need to tell you this” and “Gonna leave you” received raving reviews throughout Europe and garnered International attention and touring extensively in 2009 with The Renaissance Band, playing well over 100 shows and solidifying his presence on live stages. In 2009 he also won the prestigious (Silver Harp) at the Buma Harpen Gala. With outstanding performances on major International festivals, stages and venues like Roskilde (Denmark), Lowlands (Netherlands), Festineuch (Switzerland), Couleur Café (Belgium), Cabaret Sauvage (France), Super Bock Fest (Portugal), Reggae on the River (California) and traveling as far as India and Africa; Ziggi Recado has been captivating audiences with signature voice and live performances.
In 2011 Ziggi’s 3rd studio album, the self entitled “Ziggi Recado” was released by VP records. It proved to be unique combining a wide range of musical styles as some of Ziggi’s first production and contained the hit “Mary”. 2012 Recado released his first “Independent” project with an EP entitled “Liberation” in March and followed by “Liberation 2.0” with the hit “Liberation” on Dredda Records in November.
In 2014 ZiGGi’s most recent full length album, ‘Therapeutic’ was released by Zion High Productions with 13 pulsating tracks produced by Zion I Kings, including “Earthstrong” with Midnite and Ziggi’s most outstanding Full Length Reggae album to date.
In 2016 ZiGGi Recado launched his own label, Nayamari Music and as a Producer & Artist, he released the EP entitled “Ivan The Terrible” including the hit “Blessed”. In 2017 Nayamari Music released another EP entitled “The Commission” featuring collaborations with 6 different artists. All tracks were produced by ZiGGi and Rekesh Dukaloo as “Khari Capone”.
2019 Ziggi headed back to the Caribbean, to Curacao where he emerged to a post pandemic world in 2022 with 7 new singles, including “When She Loves” produced by Oneness Records. In 2023 Ziggi has already been featured on two Reggaeton singles and with more collaborations in the works with artists and producers he is busy in the studio crafting new music
