SPANISH TOWN ROCKING WEEK 2
Good evenin Jamwurl. When I say Jamwurl, I mean exactly that we are going to jam out in the world with a playlist that is designated to evoke several emotions…. I present this week’s playlist
SPANISH TOWN ROCKING
1. Intence – Dream Life
One of my favourite songs off the Aircraft riddim! The lyrics are so simple, honest and powerful. It doesn’t need much imagination as it is straightforward and a certified banger!
2. Jahvillani – Rubberband
“Pop a rubberband a bagga gyal a come along” What a MOOD! this is a second song off the high flying Aircraft riddim and without no doubt one of Jahvilliani’s stand out hits of late last year coming into this year. This is a certified banger!
3. Shawnie876 – My Story
A song released in the summer of 2019, it still holds merit in a new year that is filled with young Jamaicans still facing suffocating plights. This song holds its weight with releases made this year.
4. NLE Choppa – Shotta Flow
This song is designated for no intellectual breakdown. This is just a certified banger and that is ok.
5. The Smiths – How Soon Is Now?
Do you know this song that has been stuck in your head for a few days? This song has been stuck in my head for a couple of years just from the days of watching Charms on TVJ. “I am human and I need to be loved Just like everybody else does”
6. J Hus – Repeat ft. Koffee
Fresh off his third studio album ‘Big Conspiracy’, he teams up with Grammy-winner Koffee where the motto is paper chasing. This song glorifies the prospect of achieving wealth and enjoying the luxuries of it. BANGER!
7. PARTYNEXTDOOR – Loyal (feat. Drake)
Partynextdoor has finally escaped from the OVO sweatshop and he has brought gifts. This song has been released since the start of the year but it’s making its way into local airwaves. I cannot wait for Party’s latest project.
8. TeeJay – From Rags to Riches
Mr UptopBoss has done it again. Teejay’s melodious tone has once again infected the eardrums of the public and the only remedy is more Tee-Jay!
9. Vybz Kartel, Sikka Rymes – Like I’m Superman
PLAY KARTEL! That is all.
10. Roddy Ricch – Every Season
This is the first song I heard from the prolific Mr Rich and all I can say his evolution has been remarkable but his message has hardly changed. Still caring about uplifting members in his community, he never forgets where he came from.
