Buzzing with creative fervour progressive collective SkoolJamaica, founded in late February, Skool extends a welcoming hand to inspired musical talents. Originally conceptualised as a backing band by Desmond ‘Desi’ Jones in the creative heat of 1988, the perennial drummer has in his repertoire enriched musical flavour spanning continents. Skool has reduced its core inspiration to accommodate a wide array of collaborative content building activities. Partnered and hosted at FinnJam located at 2a Old Church Road in Kingston; Skool events, most recently a three day Skool writing camp, fosters, music literacy and songwriting skills.

Conducted cozily yet cardinal in locale, Skool’s Joshua Jones affirms the need for initiatives that foster organic original ideas and skill building. Skool is where talented crossroads meet. Having seen how local musicians, songwriters and producers can improve quality, intention and innovation, Skool is officially now in musical procession.
