Sharp Like A Billiblade

BilliBlade, born Linval McKnight in Kingston, Jamaica, has been writing songs from 12 years of age with his first official recording when he was about 20. His vocal styles and talent for writing is authentic and unique. His music covers all emotions and aspects of life. He has described his style as a blend of Reggae and Dancehall with a touch of R&B and Hip-Hop. He
now lives in Miramar, Florida.

He grew up in a poor family with three sisters and one older brother, in the then quiet town of Braeton (Phase 3), in the city of Portmore. His father owned a sound system (disco) in the early 70’s but by the time BilliBlade was born his mother had convinced his father to sell it. Nevertheless, music was already engraved in BilliBlade’s DNA and at a young age he started to pen lyrics.

In December 1996, after graduating from Wolmers Boys High, BilliBlade migrated to the United States of America. Miami, Florida to be exact. There He attended Miami-Dade College for three years, from 1997 to 2000 then on to Keiser University between 2002 and 2004, majoring in Business Administration and graduating with an Associates of Arts degree. After a few years away from music because of college, work and family. BilliBlade
high-tailed the Reggae/Dancehall train with a renewed focus and determination.

From capturing a third place finish at a Coast2coast musical event in Miami, July 2015, in which he was the only Reggae Artist featured, to the release of his first EP, RRDH( Reggae Rap Dancehall Hip-hop) and a host of singles including “Charm” featuring R&B artist Denzel Williams, “Mr. Do it right”, “Best life”, “Issues”, “Ganja Way”, No Pressure”, “Asylum” and his most recent releases, “Yah man” and “Yute Dem Dying” featured on his new Album “Dancehall Again” all under his own label, Orcamusic Entertainment. Billiblade has been working tirelessly and consistently on his music & brand which he now hopes to deliver to the masses. In Addition to his own projects, Billiblade has also worked on other multiple productions such as the “Good Vibes Riddim” & “Raindrops Riddim” Ep with his songs ’20 to life’ & ‘Get you down’ and “Bird flu Riddim” Ep with ‘Inna Dancehall’, produced by Leo Tech Music and City Heat entertainment, respectively.

He has been featured in various publications over the years such as the Jamaican Star, The Jamaica Observer, Hype Magazine, The Rhythmic Lounge Magazine, The Lov3rz Magazine( March, April & May 2017 editions). He has also been working the airways with Radio interviews and airplays on U.S. radio stations such as Flexx FM radio, BWD Radio, Dagr8 FM, with features on local stations such as Suncity Radio, Irie FM, with notable spins on south Florida’s premier and longest running radio Reggae Show, Reggae Runnings on Hot 105fm with legendary host Tanto Irie.

He is constantly keeping busy and working on his craft as is evident with the release of his highly anticipated debut album titled ‘Dancehall Again’ on July 5th 2022. As the title “Dancehall Again” suggests, this album feel and sound is more of the 90s golden era of Dancehall. The artist states a big part of his motivation for the album is constantly hearing people wanting and saying they miss the 90s style, vibe and sound of Dancehall. With this release the artist is confident it will allow him to begin to carve out a name and space for himself in this highly competitive music and entertainment industry among the elites.
