ROOTICAL VOL. 2 CREATES WAVES!
Historically, reggae music has been a refuge for strong , bold and extremely talented musicians,
Reggae legends such as: Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Beres Hammond among others have achieved legendary status over the years and made reggae into what it is today.
On this new cultural project, Rootical volume 2 is produced by grammy award winning Delroy “Phatta” Pottinger of Phattarax Records, where fans are able to tune in to the smooth and tantalizing vocals in all its glory.
Rootical Volume 2 is an eleven track, sumptuous mixture of subtly blended vocals embedded in a amazing reggae rhythm showcasing some of the industry’s amazing talent. This production is as slick and polished as you could ask for and brilliantly serves an inherent quality which Phatta is known for in the music industry.
The album is engaging from the opening of it’s first single to the close out track; all the songs on made the Rootical project really special. The tracks include:
I Think I’m Ready, Arlene Naphtali: is a love song, which has an old school style with lover’s reggae ona dub rhythm, Boom Draw,Andy Livingston–this is a ganja song over a new updated version of a popular reggae baseline, Touch Me– fans can see on this catchy track, the versatile General Degree stepping outside of his comfort zone, into a one drop reggae rhythm.
Rite Conclusion, Calise, new to the music scene, can be heard on a dancehall/reggaeton beat which generation z can appreciate, How Do You Feel, Rachaad Amarjii (feat. Knatch Rychus), is a social commentary on the topic of poverty and income inequality which is happening globally, Keep on Moving, Emiliyah, a sultry and airy vocals on a daring drum and bass track while on some catchy horn lines, The Feeling–Natural Happiness, this is a relatively new artiste with a positive message, Dance With Me–Culture Weapon, gives the listener a nostalgia of eighties reggae, Heart Of Gold-, Martei Korley-a Neil Young cover on a fresh updated version of an eighties style rhythm, Ringtone, Kimberly Nain a reggae meets hip hop and pop vocals, with a Sly and Robbie lending their expertise to the track best rhythm section and –Night Walking, Michael, saxophone instrumental on a roots reggae track.
” The idea for this project Rootical sprung out of the experience of working on other productions I have done throughout the years, I produced a lot of authentic reggae songs, Rootical Volume two 2 is crème de la crème” explained Phatta
Rootical Volume 2 is a project rich in texture and depth , which is obviously and unapologetically plays on the excellence and and strengths of Phatta’s production skills.
