On The Redeemm Track
Music was still calling him however and he knew that his music had to be of substance
Earle Morrison aka Redeemm, was born December 12 1976 in Spanish Town, St. Catherine. He grew up in Tredegar Park of Spanish Town and Bodles Crescent of Old Harbour.
As a child he used to listen to music on what was called a Jukebox or a Record Changer as many would call it.
While he was attending All Age School, he was always singing, performing at after-work jams, small parties and community DJ competitions which he won on occasion.
Redeemm wanted to focus on music while attending high school, but his mother told him to get an education. However even so after school, Redeemm’s fellow students would pay to enter a classroom for the chance to hear him sing.
After acquiring his CXCs, Redeemm went to join the Jamaica Fire Brigade while at the same time attended UWI where hebecame an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Soon after becoming a member of the Jamaica Constabulary Force. All this time, music was still a part of his life, writing a number of songs and recording a few.
Still not satisfied, Redeemm left Jamaica, went overseas where he taught for a few years and in which he did some training as an instructor in Paramilitary drills and discipline.
Music was still calling him however and he knew that his music had to be of substance with a positive message. So, he dedicated himself to doing some research into history and religion that would aid in his writing.
Over the years, Redeemm has spoken to many people who have shown interest in his craft, but Payne House Records were ultimately the ones who decided to sign him which he wholeheartedly accepted. Now he is ready to open the eyes of the people through the message in his music.
