Music has always been Tyeka’s passion, ever since she was a little girl growing up in Seaview Gardens in inner city Kingston, Jamaica.
While there were little opportunities for Tyeka to make her voice
heard, she capitalized on those small opportunities that came her
way. She began singing in her mother’s church, and from there, her
passion only grew into a phenomenal love for the arts.
She performed briefly with Jamaica Musical Theatre Company and at small shows such as Jamnesia, and Poetry for Change ect. She also performed at Triple Century Sports Bar, Kaluga Café, and was briefly affiliated with A Jus di Vybz music, where her song “Been through Worse” was featured on their “Treble Cleft with Make It” and “Less Fortunate Rhythm” labels.
While this relationship with A Jus di Vybz did not last long, Tyeka’s passion has not diminished, as music is the singular thing that makes her happy. She draws her inspiration from local artists and international artistes such as: Tessanne Chin, Taurus Riley, Alaine, Rihanna, the late Etta James and Aretha Franklin.
Tyeka who goes by the pseudonym “TK” hopes her music is able to inspire others to feel the emotion that she pours into her lyrics. She hopes to make her mark on the world so that her listeners will be able to forget their own worries and allow music to heal them.
In 2020 TK was introduced to an international record label EGF Media located in Bronx, New York. She signed a three (3) year recording contract and is currently working on her upcoming EP. She now has a single titled “My Life” that is rocking the air waves in Jamaica and worldwide. TK looks forward to making more influential and relatable music so her fans can continue to be inspired!
