Jamaica gave birth to hip hop through Kool Herc, and now it’s time to reclaim and elevate that legacy.
Launching June 5 and running through to December 19, I ❤ HIP HOP” isn’t just another event, it’s the start of something bigger: a cultural home for hip hop in Jamaica. Every Thursday at Dulce Lounge, 22 Barbican Road, the city’s music lovers, creatives, and party goers will gather for a night that blends premium vibes with authentic street energy. Expect 2-4-1 drink specials, themed nights, and a rotating lineup of top-tier DJs and surprise performances. The opening night will be legendary, with DJ Boyd James of the Alric & Boyd duo, pioneering Jamaican DJs and producers who have been instrumental in introducing and popularizing Jamaica’s vibrant music scene since the early 1990s.
“I ❤ HIP HOP” is the brainchild of four powerhouse culture-driven forces. Boombox Entertainment, Promorang, Q&A Consultants, and Frank Griz, united to create Kingston’s ultimate Thursday-night experience at Dulce Lounge, 22 Barbican Road.
Boombox Entertainment, led by event and hospitality veteran Tricia C. Stone, delivers top-tier production with over 20 years of industry experience.
Promorang, powered by digital innovator Andre Millwood, fuels audience engagement and community activation.
Q&A Consultants , co-founded by media and culture strategist Patrice “Q-Soul” Pinkney, brings creative flair and brand storytelling.
Frank Griz, acclaimed social media strategist, event promoter, and music producer, ties it all together with cultural insight and street-smart execution.
Tricia C. Stone, CEO of Boombox Entertainment and the driving force behind the concept, shares her vision: “I ❤ HIP HOP is more than a vibe, it’s the beginning of a movement.
