GOTT-YO Takes Over
He did his first single “NOBODY CARES” in 2005 with Exterminator Recording Label,
GOTT-YO, who is from the community of Cockburn Pen, a commercial hub in the heart of Kingston was born with an enshrined DNA to sing. This is not far fetched, because he is from the type of family that is blessed with voices of the archangels. From an early age, he knew that singing was for him. He became professionally involved when
he was 18 years old, fresh from high school.
He did his first single “NOBODY CARES” in 2005 with Exterminator Recording Label, which was owned by one of Jamaica’s finest producers Phillip ‘Fattis’ Burrell. This single enjoyed exceptional airplay both locally and internationally. His musical journey continued with and took an exceptional turn when he met Sean ‘Seanizzle’ Reid and Mr. G aka Goofy where he did a number of songs to include but not limited to “ I NEED A CHANGE”, “NUTTEN NAH GWAN ROUND YAH” and a collaboration with Mr. G called “BEFORE DI YEAR DONE”. These three songs catapulted Gabrielle into the limelight where he was now a household name.
In 2006, he went to Barbados on his first tour with the group called ”L.U.S.T” which included ‘Lukie D’, who happens to be GOTT-YO’S brother. He continued to record a number of songs during the period from the last tour until the BIG ONE which was in 2009 when he went to America for the first time and got gigs at a number of clubs across the continental USA. He did a number of songs for the FRENZ FOR REAL LABEL to include GUIDANCE. This song earned him his first television interview on TVJ’s morning program SMILE JAMAICA roll out show, which was to say the least very well received.
In 2012, the singer met up with the BUSY SIGNAL, the TURF PREZIDENT and did a few collaborations. He continued to travel and work with BUSY on a number of overseas tours to include a tour in Venezuela, Trinidad and the USA. In 2015, GOTT-YO realized one of his life long dreams to travel to Europe. He went on a tour with his brother, LUKIE D, which took him to Berlin, Brussels and Geel. He did REGGAE JAM AND RAGGAE GEEL.
He had from day one and still has a great love for the music and he continued to record numerous song. He did dub plates for a number of hit songs for numerous sound systems to include THINKING OUT LOUD, BACK TO SLEEP, ONE CALL AWAY and SHAPE OF YOU.
In 2017, he rose up with a trembling sound; a heart smashing single called “ONE
SHOES”. This is a phenomenal song that was produced by REAL QUEFFA MUSIC /
VERSHON. ONE SHOES is getting positive feed back and exceptional radio play.
