Cornelius Grant
Known for more of his cameo appearances in music videos, John Maffia has actually made quite a career for himself. In addition to being an actor, he is also a director, producer and an artiste, all in a day’s work for the man born Cornelius Grant. Hailing from the Waterhouse community, John draws inspiration for his films and his music from his surroundings.
And while not being formally trained, John received plenty of hands on training while on set before branching off on his own to direct his own features. This past student of Edna Manley has composed quite the show reel so far with appearances in Erup’s hit music video ‘Gyal A Run Dem Head’ and Elephant Man featuring Bounty Killa’s ‘This Is How We Do It’ and assisting on the sets of Konshens and Darrio ‘Siddung’ and Romain Virgo ‘Mi A Wait’. But more recently John has been concentrating on promoting his own projects such his singles ‘Fi Di Gyal Dem’ and ‘Red Yiy People’ and his feature length film ‘Kill Dem All Done’ all can be found with simple search on YouTube. I am sure by now you recognize the face, who knows next time you will remember the name of John Maffia.
