Road To Greatness Roll Through Yallahs
The choice of location by the Showtime Services and the Managed by Mego team for their Road To Greatness artiste showcase
The choice of location by the Showtime Services and the Managed by Mego team for their Road To Greatness artiste showcase turned out to be an inspired one as the Yallahs Primary School grounds provided more than enough space for not only the stage and additional show setup but left plenty of room for both patrons and vendors alike – with the bonus of having a large enough parking space to absorb the sudden invasion of all the cars, vans, buses and trucks that suddenly descended on the otherwise sleepy district just off the St. Thomas coast.
Although the slated performers were late to arrive on the stage, the crowd were entertained by a steady rotation of disc jockeys, some who were local to the area and some from much further afield. After Road to Greatness got started, however, it had a steady stream of performers who went on and delivered more than credible renditions of songs that had swathes of people present singing, dancing and overall enjoying themselves. Kaka HighFlames and Vanessa Bling both had the biggest reactions but acts such as Valiant, Najeriii, Stalk Ashley -Valiant’s guest – and Marcy Chin had their collective moments in the early morning in eastern Jamaica.
As many have come to realize the Road to Greatness is certainly a long one however, as this show’s staging, indicates the first steps along that road would be the most challenging.
