Agent Sasco is Grateful

This a strange feeling, because as publication and a website being impartial is the name of the game. However, when there is an act that has made as many appearances as Agent Sasco has on our covers, currently the only act with more than one, there is a tendency to be hyper aware of the progress made in their career or even the lack of it.

With that being said, we as a collective were pleased to see that Agent Sasco made the step that many Jamaican acts have made before, which is to organize a stageshow through their own means, utilizing their influence and cashing in on whatever goodwill garnered within the industry. So Agent Sasco’s Grateful was conceptualized to celebrate his 25 years in the music industry.

The date of the show was the 29th of December which brought about some unforeseen challenges for Sasco’s team as not only was it smack dab in the middle of one of the busiest stage show end of year seasons, it was also affected by a spate of inclement weather leading into the night of the concert. However, despite all that, not only did droves and droves of patrons come out to celebrate with Sasco but artistes within the industry came out and performed on the stage despite the clear dangers associated with doing that while it rains. Performers from Sasco’s precocious daughter Lauren to gospel singer Glacia Robinson and the man who helped to start the journey in 1999 – Spragga Benz all paid homage to a man who is looked upon as the ultimate professional artiste and family man. This concert is proof that gratefulness works best when it flows both ways, Agent Sasco is grateful for his time within the Jamaican music business and the Jamaican music business is grateful to having him be apart of it.
