Ruffi ready for the road
Dancehall artist Ruffi imitates life through his music. His latest single “Life” is about facing hardship but persevering no matter what. Reaching for the top, Ruffi aims to become one of the greats despite recent tragedy.
Influenced by Bounty Killa, Ruffi earned his stage name at an early age during his school days in Westmoreland, Jamaica. In high school, he started displaying his toasting skills through deejaying with well-known sound systems but decided to take his talents to the stage.
For the last nine years, Ruffi took the stage and airwaves in Jamaica and the United States with recordings with Smallboxx Records, PayDay Music and an affiliation with Bounty Killa’s Alliance New Generation while working night and day to become a household name. However, Ruffi’s life was traumatically interrupted when his 15-year-old niece, Shienka Gray was brutally stabbed to death in Jamaica.
After taking the time out to memorialize his niece and supporting his family through their grief, Ruffi expressed his sorrow through his music. Hence his recently released debut EP, “Progress Diversify” was born featuring “Suffer” and “Life.”
His single “Life” has topped radio charts for the last 13 weeks getting frequent rotation in Jamaica and the U.S. Check out the video for “Life” here. A copy of the single is also attached.
Ruffi strongly believes that every man has his day, true talent will always stand out and in helping others. On Oct. 1, Ruffi will embark on a radio and promotional tour which kicks off in Jamaica and continues on in South Florida. He will be spreading his message and inspiring others through his lyrics. Ruffi wants to bring his message to your platform also.
