Nkosi A strong African name set to mean Ruler…….
Nkosi birth name Flint Chambers hailed from the enchanted island of Jamaica. Born in 1978 Nkosi was one of ten children. Raised in a Christian family Nkosi would sing in his family church. Growing up in an era when reggae music was spreading global love peace and fun the young Nkosi learned about music and embraced the talent and culture that surrounded him. Raised in Kingston 13 the talented young artist attended Marcus Garvey Technical High School, he spent his free time writing songs reading and working to help his family. He would often spend lengthy periods in St Ann’s where he honed skills like cooking and farming these skills made him independent.

In his early twenties Nkosi’s undeniable talent was recognized in the city by the legendary Gregory Isaacs the young artist wrote and recorded his first song titled “Have To Keep The Sabbath Holding” released under the African Museum Label in 1998.
Nkosi describes his sound as authentic and universal.
“As an artist it is important to me to give people vocals that can be performed live…….im not a fan of digital enhancement, I want to show the world that I can sing!

Nkosi proclaims that Garnet Silk, Buju Banton, Bob Marley, Sizzla & Jah Cure are the staple for his inspiration, the young artist has shown his spiritual strength and writing ability over the years by delivering clean conscience lyrics. Nkoski prides himself on being a humanitarian with a love for sports, his family and of course music.
Nkosi has several highlights in his budding career including performing on Reggae Sumfest in 2010 after winning a competition on a local TV station, the hardworking artist also performed at the famous Jamerican Film Festival in 2013.
In 2017 Nkosi was Signed by an evolving record label IRELAND RECORDS, in the fall of 2017 the phenomenal single “DEM NUH REAL” the song which was released under Ireland Records. The hit song climaxes daily issues in Nkosi’s community and has become a radio favorite with world class disc jocks placing “DEM NUH REAL” on their playlist, the single has a HD video that has fans, press and the industry in a stir of excitement with its hard hitting messages of friendships jealousy and opportunity. Nkosi is currently touring Jamaica giving his audiences energetic memorable performances whilst on the Release Innovation School Tour.
