Kafinal Takes Home The Juno For Reggae Recording Of The Year
This past Saturday as the Juno’s celebrated their 45th year. Toronto’s Multifaceted Reggae entertainer, Kafinal took home the award for “Reggae Recording Of The Year” for single “Nah Complain” featuring Daddy U-Roy. The other nominee’s in the category consisted of the 4 time Juno Winner, Exco Levi and Platinum recording artist Kreesha Turner, 2010 Juno Award Winner Dubmatix and 3 time Juno Nominee Lyndon John X.
For over a year now, Kafinal has taken over the Canadian Reggae scene, topping not only charts across Canada, but charts across the world with his unique, yet foundational approach. “Nah Complain” was #1 on the Rebel Vibez Canadian Charts for 8 weeks consecutive with a total 20 weeks on the chart. The single also climbed to the top spot on the Foundation Radio Network’s Top 30 Reggae Chart, Puggy Simeon’s Reggae Review Top 10 and went #1 on Richie B’s Jamaica weekly music countdown charts. Last month the singer was also listed as one of the Top 20 upcoming reggae artists of 2016.
Since last summer the artist has been featured on festivals and stage shows across Canada & the U.K. Leading up to his big headlining performance at JunoFest, Kafinal also received rave reviews from his appearance on Stages, a premiere Industry Networking Urban Artist Showcase that takes place in Toronto monthly.
