Giark is ‘So Happy’

This latest release from Giark, on the heels of Irreplaceable, Facetious, Wah Some, and So nice, a string crowd favorites; is perhaps his most impressive yet. But it is more than just another well done ballad by the heir to the iconic Digital B’s Musical legacy. So Happy symbolizes a representation sorely lacking, a pure romance. The video that accompanies the single is vibrant, funny, and charming to say the least. Shanique Marie plays the muse in this vivid visual telling of the track. But the song itself tells the story of a perfectly balanced love, through the use of well written, witty lyrics and innovatively infectious melodies. The latest in his string of hits, Giark, son of legendary Bobby “Digital” Dixon, is the breath of fresh air we have come to expect from his inventive style. He manages to meld the rootsy sounds of old school reggae, with a more bouncy sonic from a more contemporary time in Jamaican music.

The song feels inspired almost, but according to Giark, the track was born out of a collective effort between himself and LMR Pro, producer, long time friend and collaborator. Having produced for artists like Kranium, Danielle D.I., Spragga Benz, LMR is no stranger to creative process “I create music based on the artist and I consider myself a self-taught musician, with no formal training.” On the same note, Giark recalls with laughter, a past-time of LMR during Prep school. “LMR was the kid with all the video games. During class parties, you could depend on him [LMR] to bring in his game console, while I would be responsible for bringing in the TV to play. That’s one of the main things I remember about my childhood friend, from dem time til now!”
When asked about the process Giark differed to a simple statement that sums up the creation of this classic feeling ballad, “Out of laughter great ideas are produced”. Be that as it may, this new single is making waves in the island. It’s available for streaming and watching everywhere;
